Choose a haircut for your life, not just the photo

Face shape matters less when the cut cannot fit your hair texture or morning routine.

Look beyond face shape

A face-shape label is only a rough clue. Your hair density, growth pattern, texture and the length you already have can matter more to the finished cut.

Be honest about styling time

A photo may show a look after careful styling. If you want to leave the house in five minutes, say so before choosing the cut. Ask what it needs on an ordinary weekday.

Think about the next six weeks

A haircut changes as it grows. Ask where volume will build, when the shape may need a trim, and whether you can still style it as you like between appointments.

Keep one clear reference

Pick a single primary image, then explain which part you like: the fringe, length, shape or texture. Your barber can translate that reference to your own hair.

Take the idea to the mirror.
